Life: Through My Eyes is a compelling compilation of poetry, drama and short stories, that prods the reader with an artistic look into the mind of an urban poet-novelist. The compilation creates a smooth, yet gripping journey through the mind of a skillful writer.

At times author C.C. Cowan, a Brooklyn native, transforms the reader into a whimsical and almost
frantic sensual frenzy, leaving the erotic palate wet
and dripping for more.

Does Cowan deliver? And how!

When asked what inspires him to write, he replies with one word, "Life!"

In the initial stanza of the first poem of the book, titled "Ghetto Child," C.C. writes:

Ghetto Child, lonely child

Ghetto child, that’s me

Ghetto child, frightened child,

will I ever be free?

He explains: "Life is much more than what goes on inside of me. It’s more than what’s inside of you. It’s the world’s breath. It’s every person and everything that surrounds us. Its lungs stretches from the far ends of the earth, spanning across oceans and seas; breathing, existing.

"Too often we become jaded by our own convictions, becoming plagued with hatred and the closing of minds. Captured by fear. The remedy for that is love."

Life: Through My Eyes explores the world from the other end of the cornea, allowing one to see things the way others might. It’s done that for thousands of readers, and it'll do it for you.

Life: Through My Eyes has been published by Jay Street Publishers, 155 West 72nd Street, New York, NY 10023. Available through leading bookstores and distributors, or directly from publisher.
